Fuji Electric AC Motors Fuji Electric DC Motors

As one of America’s leading servo motor repair companies, Servotech’s Fuji Electric servo motor repair services are designed to return your servo motor to “like new” condition – like the day it left the factory. Our certified staff of technicians is dedicated to the highest quality Fuji Electric servo motor repair and refurbishment, with rush, 2-day servo motor repair services available.

Fuji Electric AC Servo Motor Repair

Fuji Electric AC servo motors are a cornerstone of high-performance automation, and our team possesses an intimate understanding of their internal architecture. To guarantee performance that meets original factory specifications, our Final Testing department utilizes authentic Fuji Electric drives. By validating every motor on the exact drive platform used in your facility, we ensure seamless communication and "plug-and-play" reliability upon return.

In many instances, a fractured endbell can lead the manufacturer to deem a motor unrepairable due to a lack of individual spare castings. We bridge this gap through advanced engineering, in-house fabrication and possessing a large inventory of OEM parts.

Many Fuji Electric motor designs feature exposed laminations to maximize cooling efficiency. However, in environments with cutting fluids or metallic dust, this exposure can be a vulnerability. Our specialized finishing process involves a high-dielectric epoxy encapsulation. This coating creates a rugged, hermetic seal across the stator laminations, preventing contaminant ingress and chemical corrosion. This critical restoration step—standard for every Fuji Electric repair we handle—significantly extends the operational lifespan of the motor in demanding industrial conditions.

Fuji Electric DC Servo Motor Repair

While Fuji Electric has transitioned its focus to high-performance AC systems, a vast number of their precision DC servo motors remain critical to global manufacturing. As these motors are no longer in production, expert refurbishment is essential for maintaining operational continuity. When you entrust a Fuji Electric DC servo to our team, we perform a comprehensive overhaul that includes high-grade precision bearings, revitalized seals, and fresh carbon brushes specifically graded for Fuji commutators.

Many people realize that carbon brushes wear out over time and need to be replaced. Simply replacing the brushes may work, but where does all the worn carbon go? Trapped inside the motor, the carbon contamination can eventually lead to motor failure. That is why Servotech thoroughly cleans every part of the motor once disassembled – we don’t just fix the problem, we treat the motor as a whole and refurbish it to good-as-new condition.

A common oversight in DC motor maintenance is the "quick fix" of simply swapping brushes. In high-duty cycle Fuji motors, the primary threat is the accumulation of conductive carbon dust. If left unaddressed, this dust migrates into the windings and feedback assemblies, creating "tracking paths" that lead to catastrophic shorts. By removing every trace of carbon residue from the internal housing and magnet assemblies, we eliminate the root cause of electrical failure rather than just treating the symptom.

Finding parts for legacy Fuji Electric hardware can be a significant hurdle for most facilities. To counter this, we maintain a strategic inventory of discontinued Fuji Electric components, from proprietary connectors to specialized brush riggings. If a critical component is truly exhausted from global stock, our in-house machining department can manufacture compatible, high-performance replacements. With our specialized focus on Fuji Electric legacy tech, your "unrepairable" Fuji servo motors are in the hands of experts dedicated to keeping your production lines moving.

5. Final Testing

Upon completion of repairs, the motor heads to our quality control department for final testing. Here, we review the entire repair and run it on a factory specific drive. Using the same drive that is used in your machine ensures that your Fuji Electric motor will run just as it should once re-installed. We take great pride in maintaining an inventory of factory drives as it allows us to offer the most effective, reliable refurbishment possible.

Servotech uses software to reprogram new encoders that will function properly when they are run on one of our factory drives.

6. Painting & Re-Labeling

Not only does a fresh coat of paint make your Fuji Electric servo motor look brand new, but it also provides protection from outside contaminants, extending the overall lifespan of the motor. Our painting department provides application-specific paint, such as:

  • Food grade epoxy
  • IP67 epoxy
  • Marine epoxy
Name plating is restored on all work down with trackable job numbers and original data.

7. Return Shipping

Our shipping department takes pride in offering the highest quality care when preparing a refurbished motor for its journey back to you. Protective caps are put on connectors, nameplates are applied to the motor, and documentation is reviewed to make sure any accessories, such as eye bolts or shaft keys, are returned to you. Our high-quality spray foam packaging system creates a mold around the motor to keep it safe in the box during shipping. For larger motors that require freight shipping, we build a custom crate on-site to fit each motor’s unique size and shape..
