ABB AC Servo Motor Repair

ABB AC servo motors undergo a detailed inspection process as soon as they arrive at our facility. Our goal is to deliver a high-quality repair that restores your servo motor to peak operating condition. During the evaluation, our technicians carefully examine all mechanical and electrical components, addressing every issue to ensure the motor performs like new. Each ABB servo motor is treated as a complete system rather than simply repairing failed parts.

To provide the most reliable repair results, we maintain strong expertise in ABB feedback systems, including encoders and resolvers found across many ABB servo motor models. Servotech has full capability to program and calibrate encoders used in ABB systems. Because improperly configured encoders can prevent the motor from communicating correctly with ABB drives, we ensure each one is programmed and tested for full compatibility. After reassembly, every repaired motor is tested on factory drives to verify performance before it is returned to you.

ABB DC Servo Motor Repair

Each ABB DC servo motor that enters our shop goes through an extensive evaluation to determine the cause of failure. Our DC servo motor repair technicians know these motors inside and out and have the experience needed to properly test and repair them. Every part of the motor is carefully inspected, checking all mechanical and electrical components throughout. Our goal is to extend the life of your ABB DC servo motor and return it to you in good-as-new condition.

DC servo motors contain carbon brushes, which are necessary for operation. Over time, these brushes wear down, and with nowhere for the carbon dust to go, the motor can become contaminated. When you send your ABB motor to Servotech, you can trust that it will be thoroughly cleaned and fitted with new brushes before being reassembled and tested.

Because many ABB DC servo motors are part of older systems, parts can sometimes be difficult to source. Servotech maintains an extensive inventory of replacement components, and when parts are unavailable, we fabricate them in-house. Our machine shop and 3D printing capabilities make it possible to recreate components such as endbells, encoder covers, and connector blocks. When it comes to repairing ABB DC servo motors, Servotech has the expertise and equipment to get the job done right.

Our shipping department takes pride in offering the highest quality care when preparing a refurbished ABB motor for its journey back to you. Protective caps are put on connectors, nameplates are applied to the motor, and documentation is reviewed to make sure any accessories, such as eye bolts or shaft keys, are returned to you. Our high-quality spray foam packaging system creates a mold around the motor to keep it safe in the box during shipping.
